This reworked piece draws from a vivid memory of my youth, a visit to a bird centre with my parents. At the heart of the image is the intimate, almost sacred, connection between myself and a bird.
Part of my 2024 exhibition Out of My Mind, this work explores the intersections of memory, connection, and mental health. The painting reflects how even fleeting encounters from childhood can echo through time, offering grounding in moments of psychological turbulence.
